Our Volunteers: Their stories

Our volunteer case studies shine a light on the incredible individuals who give their time, skills, and energy to support our work. Each story offers a glimpse into their experiences, the impact they’ve made, and the meaningful connections they’ve built along the way. We hope these real-life journeys inspire others to get involved and see just how powerful volunteering can be.

Zoe's story

Here is a story from our volunteer Zoe, who runs the training kitchen on our Sunday Beyond Limits Session.

Our Beyond Limits sessions are for young people aged 8-19 (or up to 25) with additional needs. Our Beyond Limits sessions on Sundays are a great way for young people with additional needs to still have access to everything they want to do and have the comfort of a relative with them at Legacy.

Anxhelina's story

Anxhelina is a volunteer in our Training Kitchen. "I first came across this volunteer role online while looking for a work experience opportunity, and I was immediately interested in participating. Once I started, I discovered how much I enjoy the work. I really like being part of a team that works together to create meals and seeing the positive impact our efforts have on the community."

Hafsa's story

Meet one of our Library Volunteers, Hafsa! She volunteers every week and has become a volunteer at Legacy to help build her confidence and give back to young people.

Colin's story

Colin is a volunteer in our music room, and since he joined, he has displayed his passion and enthusiasm by organising Open Mic Nights here at Legacy! It is something we haven't done before, but Colin has been amazing at organising it and getting young people involved in the process.
