Mental Health Support

Prioritising your mental health and wellbeing is important year-round, but the colder months and festive season can be especially difficult for some people. Croydon has a range of services available to people who feel they might need a bit of support.

• MIND IN CROYDON – Mind in Croydon provides counselling, workshops and a listening ear. There is also the Croydon Health & Wellbeing Space located in the Whitgift Centre where people can drop in for quick advice.

• CROYDON TALKING THERAPIES – This is an NHS service offering talking therapies for families and individuals experiencing stress, anxiety and depression. You can refer yourself, and the service is confidential.

• CROYDON DROP-IN – A service aimed at people aged 10-25, providing support for a range of different issues, including mental health and wellbeing. People are invited to drop in to their Church Street address to receive support.

• LOCAL SUPPORT GROUPS – you can also connect with local families and people experiencing similar things, to build a community web of support.

Food Services & Support

No family should go hungry – Croydon’s food banks are here to help this winter.

• CROYDON FOOD BANKS – Croydon’s Food Banks are committed to reducing hunger in Croydon – they also provide emergency food parcels to families in need

• SALVATION ARMY CROYDON – the Salvation Army runs food banks in Croydon to support residents, as well as providing all kinds of additional support this winter.

• FOOD BANK REFERRALS – a lot of Croydon’s food banks operate through referrals – you can contact Croydon Council if you need a referral for a food bank.

• WARM SPACES & COMMUNITY HUBS – places including Croydon’s libraries, community centres, Waddon Leisure Centre, Ashburton Hall and lots more can provide you with a warm community space, and often hot drinks, activities, free Wi-Fi and advice for local people.

Other Support

• HOUSEHOLD SUPPORT FUND (HSF) – this is a scheme in Croydon that helps with food vouchers, energy costs and other essential household costs.
