My name is Carol, and I am 10 years old. I have been coming to Legacy since I was 8, and it has become one of my favourite places to be.
The reason I wanted to come to Legacy was because of all the fun things to do, like rock climbing and karaoke. I also wanted to make friends and have somewhere to have fun. For me, Legacy is a break from homework, school, and all the other things I have to think about. When I am there, I can relax, enjoy myself, and be with people who make me feel happy.
There are lots of rooms at Legacy that I love. My favourite is the recreation room because I really enjoy karaoke and singing. I also love the sports hall where I can play dodgeball and go roller skating. The rock-climbing room is exciting because I have learned new skills and challenged myself. I like the music room too, especially when we play steel pans. The library is another special place because the tutors are really kind and help me when I need it. Sometimes I like spending time in the art room because it is a calm place where I can chill out and be creative.
I am lucky to have lots of people who support me. At Legacy, I know I can talk to youth workers like Sally, Hamza, Cheyenne, and Shukri if I have any questions or problems. They are always there to help.
Legacy has helped me achieve so many things. I have made new friends and learned more about myself. I now understand some of my strengths and weaknesses. For example, I know I can be a bit clingy sometimes, but I have also learned that I have a really good singing voice. Legacy has helped me become a more confident speaker, and I feel braver about sharing my thoughts and being honest. I have learned how to rock climb, roller skate, and even how to manage money, which are skills I am proud of.
When I think about the future, I have lots of dreams. I would love to be a singer because I enjoy performing and using my voice. Maybe I could even become a teacher one day. I want to travel to different places, have lots of friends, and enjoy life because you only live once. I hope to have a good balance of adventures, friendships, and fun.
One of the best things about Legacy is the people. When I talk to others, I learn new things and hear different ideas. Everyone is understanding, and they make me feel comfortable sharing my thoughts without worrying about being judged. Legacy has helped me grow, build confidence, and feel supported, and I am really grateful to be part of it.
